On how they look
Wore them to my son’s graduation.
Small feet, wide at the front, so most smart shoes are either too narrow or too long. The 37 fits both ways. Classic colour, with a dress.
Modern shoes forgot about feet. We didn’t. Pelle Vie follows the shape of your foot and bunions, in a smooth matte upper that works at a desk, a dinner or a long lunch.

An everyday shoe for bunions and wide feet that looks smart enough for a desk, a dinner or a long lunch: certified orthopaedic inside, clean and matte outside.
Room for your bunion. The toe box is wide and foot-shaped, so there’s less pressure on the big-toe joint.
Toes that lie flat. Your toes can spread out instead of being pushed together.
Bends with your foot. The flat rubber cupsole is flexible, with a clean edge that reads as a smart shoe.
Wide at the front, held at the heel. The laces adjust over the top of your foot, and your heel stays put.
Flat sole. No heel lift. If you’re used to thick cushioning, start gradually rather than all day on day one.
Smooth matte upper. Leather-look, tonal stitching, low cut. Wipes clean with a damp cloth.
Unisex · sizes 37–48 · 5 colours. Check the size guide above.

Shoes are built wrong
Your toes are meant to spread and push off. Most smart shoes are narrowest at the toes and hold them together. Step after step, for years, the big toe is pushed inward and the big-toe joint takes the pressure, so your bunion hurts and keeps getting worse. Pelle Vie is widest at the toes, so they move again and the joint is left alone.

“most ‘normal’ shoes are quite narrow and squash the toes which cause pain, bunions and alter your balance”

In their words
On how they look
Wore them to my son’s graduation.
Small feet, wide at the front, so most smart shoes are either too narrow or too long. The 37 fits both ways. Classic colour, with a dress.
On bunions
Nothing hard over the joint and the toes lie flat.
I’m 63 and I’d stopped wearing anything with a closed toe to work because of the bunion. Went back to closed shoes in September.
On a day on your feet
Wide enough that my toes aren’t crammed by closing time.
I’m 66 and on my feet in a shop all day. Smart enough for the shop floor. I bought the black and then the mocca.
On your feet all day
Desk, commute, dinner: a day in town is hours of standing and walking on hard floors. In a narrow smart shoe, your toes are pressed together and your bunion takes the pressure all day. Give the toes room, and your feet stay comfortable from morning to evening.
Toes spread as weight lands. The foot gets wider, and steadier.
The toe box is widest at the toes, so they lie flat instead of being pushed together.
The big-toe joint has room, so the side of the shoe doesn’t press on your bunion.
With room at the front and nothing pressing on the joint, your feet still feel fine when the shoes come off.
Wherever the day takes you, it starts with room at the toes.
Care
The matte upper is not a knit, so there is nothing to wash and nothing to condition. Three steps keep it looking new.
A damp cloth takes off dust and marks. For scuffs, a drop of mild soap on the cloth.
Air-dry at room temperature, away from radiators and direct sun.
No machine wash and no tumble dryer: the upper and the cupsole edge are not made for it.
What customers say
I wear them to the office every day and my feet are comfortable all day. I got the black ones and with trousers they look like a normal smart shoe, nobody has asked about them. My usual 39.
I was worried they would look like the shoes my mother wears, the wide ones from the catalogue. They don't. The front is rounded but the shape is clean and the upper is smooth. I wore them to a christening and felt fine about it.
Office five days a week, before that in leather brogues that pressed on the bunion by ten in the morning. These are smooth over the joint, no seam there, and they're wide at the front where I need it. Took my usual 45. Mocca.
Ordered 40, my usual, and they were tight over the top of the foot, I have a high instep. Swapped for a 41, the exchange was easy and quick, label by email the next day. The 41 is right. Four stars for the first go.
The black shows scuffs. Kitchen chair leg, first week. They wipe off with a damp cloth, which is more than I can say for my suede ones, but you see them before you wipe. Fit is wide at the toes, holds at the heel, usual size.
Look like proper shoes. Feel like my slippers. White.
I'm 63 and I'd stopped wearing anything with a closed toe to work because of the bunion. These have nothing hard over the joint and the toes lie flat. Went back to closed shoes in September. Dark navy, which goes with most of what I own.
Comfortable and wide, no issue there. But they are more casual than I expected from the photos, more trainer than shoe. Fine for my office, which is relaxed, but I wouldn't wear them with a suit. Three stars for that, the shoe itself is good.
The sole is flat and bends in half, same as the knit ones I already have, but with the smooth upper on top. Walked from the station to the office and back every day for a month. Feet fine, no heel, no rubbing.
Took twelve days to arrive. The shoes are good, wide at the front, smart, I wear them with a skirt and with trousers. Just order early.
The upper is a bit firm the first two or three days, not stiff, just firmer than the knit ones. After that it gives where your foot bends. Wide toes, heel holds. I'd buy again.
They fit, they're wide, nothing wrong with them. I just prefer the knit version and I should have bought those again. Keeping these for the garden centre. Not for me.
Small feet, wide at the front, so most smart shoes are either too narrow or too long. The 37 fits both ways. Wore them to my son's graduation. Classic colour, with a dress.
Wide at the front, snug at the back, flat. Same fit as the knit ones, same size.
Not for heavy rain, the upper isn't waterproof and the laces soak. Light rain is fine, I wiped them dry at the office. Otherwise comfortable all day, wide where my feet are wide, and they look tidy.
Size 48, which almost no comfortable shoe comes in. These do. The sole has a clean edge so they pass as a smart shoe at work, and they're flat, which my back prefers. Nothing more to say, they do the job.
I'm 66 and on my feet in a shop all day. Smart enough for the shop floor, wide enough that my toes aren't crammed by closing time. I bought the black and then the mocca.
Good shoe, wide at the front, smooth over the top. The laces are too long, I double knot them. That's my only comment.
Fit is fine. The upper creases across the front after a few weeks, like any smooth shoe, and it shows more on the white. Toes have room. Three stars, I'd get the black next time.
No breaking in. Wore them to work the day they arrived and forgot about them until I took them off. The box was a bit squashed, the shoes were fine.
Nobody at work has noticed they're wide. My toes have.
Size 47 and they go up to 48, so for once I wasn't at the end of the range. Wide feet, flat, for the office. If the fit had been off the return was free, so I wasn't worried about ordering.

Pelle Vie follows standard EU sizing, 37 to 48 in whole sizes. If you’re between two sizes, we recommend the larger one.
No. It’s a smooth, matte leather-look upper: the clean look without the care routine. A damp cloth keeps it new.
That’s what they’re for. Low cut, tonal stitching and a clean cupsole edge: from the front they read as a plain smart sneaker; only from underneath do you see the foot shape.
Yes, thick socks included. The upper is a smooth matte material, not a knit, so it keeps the wind out better; it is not waterproof.
These shoes have no built-in support; your foot does that work. They suit people who want that. If you are unsure, start with an hour a day.
They’re built for comfort from the first wear. If you’re coming from years of thick, cushioned shoes, the first few days can feel different; most people stop noticing within a week.
Yes. It’s a unisex shoe in sizes 37 to 48, the same shoe for everyone.
