On the grip
Haven’t gone over once.
Dog walk, 6 km, every morning, muddy field. The old ones I went over twice a winter.
Modern shoes forgot about feet. We didn’t. Attività Vie follows the shape of your foot and bunions, held by a supportive cage for walks, trails and the gym.

A shoe for bunions and wide feet on the days you move: walks, trails and the gym, anywhere you want grip and a shoe that stays put. Certified orthopaedic inside, a stretch knit held by a supportive cage outside.
Room for your bunion. The toe box is wide and foot-shaped, so there’s less pressure on the big-toe joint.
Toes that spread. Your toes can spread out and grip instead of being pushed together.
Grips and bends. The thin, non-slip rubber sole bends with your foot.
Held at the midfoot. A supportive cage holds the middle of your foot, so the shoe stays put on uneven ground.
Quick-pull lace. One pull and a toggle, on in seconds.
Flat sole. No heel lift. The sole is thin on purpose, so start gradually, on softer ground first.
Unisex · sizes 36–46 · 6 colours. Check the size guide above.

Shoes are built wrong
Your toes are meant to spread and push off. Most trainers are narrowest at the toes and hold them together. Step after step, for years, the big toe is pushed inward and the big-toe joint takes the pressure, so your bunion hurts and keeps getting worse. Attività Vie is widest at the toes, so they move again and the joint is left alone.

“most ‘normal’ shoes are quite narrow and squash the toes which cause pain, bunions and alter your balance”

In their words
On the grip
Haven’t gone over once.
Dog walk, 6 km, every morning, muddy field. The old ones I went over twice a winter.
On the cage
The band over the middle of the foot is the point.
The knit is soft and stretches, so without it the shoe would slide about on a slope. Noticed it on the downhill bit behind the reservoir.
On bunions
The knit gives at the joint, nothing hard against it.
I’m 63 and the big toe on the right has been going over for years. Three walks a week now instead of one. The dog is pleased.
From the ground up
On walks, trails and gym floors, every step lands on the front of your foot. In a narrow trainer, your toes are squeezed together and your bunion takes the pressure. Give the toes room, and your feet stay steady and comfortable from the first step to the last.
With room at the front and nothing pressing on the joint, your feet still feel fine when you get home.
The big-toe joint has room, so the side of the shoe doesn’t press on your bunion.
The toe box is widest at the toes, so they spread and grip instead of being pushed together.
Toes spread as weight lands. A wider foot, more ground under you.
Steady ground starts at the toes.
What holds you
Thin enough to feel the ground, patterned to hold it. On top, the knit moves with your foot while the cage keeps it where it should be.

What customers say
Gravel path, then the wet grass by the river, then the muddy bit where the dog goes in. No slipping. I'd read that these thin-sole shoes have no grip, so I was watching my feet the first few times. Stopped watching after a week. Toes have room, that's the other thing.
Wide at the front, bunion on the left, and a narrow heel that walks out of every wide shoe I've tried. These hold at the heel. I think it's the bands over the top. Took my usual 40.
Deadlifts and rows, three times a week. I used to lift in socks because every trainer had a soft heel. These are flat and thin and the floor is just there. Did a 17 km walk in them on the Saturday as well, which I hadn't planned.
Calves. Nobody tells you about the calves. First proper walk, about 9 km, and the next two days I went down the stairs sideways. Fine now, six weeks in, and I do the same loop without thinking about it. Four stars for the two days.
Ordered 41, my usual, and the band over the instep pressed when I pulled the lace tight. Swapped for a 42 (emailed Sunday, label Monday, new pair the following week), and that one is right. High instep, go up. Wish the size page said that.
They look a bit like water shoes, if I'm honest. The cage thing on top. My daughter said "are those for the beach". They are not for the beach, they are for the Wednesday walk, and my feet are fine at the end of it, which is more than I can say for the boots. Green is nicer in real life than on the screen.
Fit is right, toes have room, and they grip well on the wet rocks at the coast. But on the stony forest track every stone comes through. I knew the sole was thin. I didn't know it was that thin. Keeping them for the grass and the gym, boots for the forest.
The lace. One pull, the toggle, done. I have arthritis in my hands and I'd stopped buying anything with proper laces. I can get these on at the back door with the dog pulling at the lead.
Size 43, a woman, and normally in the men's aisle. These go up to 46 so I didn't have to think about it. Wide at the toes, holds at the back. Wore them to the gym and then round the supermarket and forgot I had them on.
Wide at the front, snug in the middle, heel stays put. Usual size.
Not waterproof. Walked through long wet grass in the morning and had wet socks by the gate. Wool socks the second time and it was fine. They dry overnight on the radiator. Otherwise nothing to report, the grip is good and my toes aren't crammed.
Eleven days to arrive, and the tracking said "in transit" for most of it. The shoes themselves are good. Flat, light, wide where my foot is wide. I'd order again, I'd just not order the week before a holiday.
The band over the middle of the foot is the point. The knit is soft and stretches, so without it the shoe would slide about on a slope. With it the foot stays where it is. Noticed it on the downhill bit behind the reservoir, where my old trail shoes used to let my toes hit the front.
I'm 63 and the big toe on the right has been going over for years. The knit gives at the joint, nothing hard against it, and the bands sit behind it, not on it. Three walks a week now instead of one. The dog is pleased.
They're all right. Wide, light, grip's fine. I just don't like feeling the ground that much and I'm not going to pretend I do. Keeping them for the garden. Not for me.
Royal blue, which I'd never normally buy. Look like trail trainers. Nobody has said a word. My toes have.
Pilates and the rowing machine, mostly. I'd been doing Pilates barefoot and the rower in old trainers with a heel on them. These do both. Flat, and you can feel the footplate. My instructor asked where they were from.
High instep, went up one on the advice in another review and it was the right call. The lace lets you set it loose over the top and still tight at the back. Took them on a 12 km walk on the second day, which you're told not to do. Feet were fine. Calves had opinions.
Grey. Grey shows the mud. On the other hand they go in the machine at 30 and come out looking new, so. Fit is wide at the front, holds at the heel, and the sole bends in half if you fold it.
I'm on my feet all day in a warehouse, concrete, then the dog in the evening. One pair for both now. The floor is hard and you feel it the first week. After that your feet seem to sort it out. I don't notice my feet at all by the evening, which is the point I suppose.
No breaking in. I did the first day round the house because I'd read you should, then the park, then the hill. Nothing rubbed. The toggle on the lace is a bit fiddly with gloves on, that's all I've got.
Fit is fine, grip is fine. The cage band sits exactly where my foot bends and I feel it on a long walk, not painful, just there. Might be my foot shape. Three stars, keeping them for shorter walks.
Size 47 normally and they stop at 46, so I took a chance on the 46 and it fits, the knit gives. Wide feet, flat, 110 kg. The sole has held up on the fells so far, four or five walks. If the 46 hadn't fitted the return was free, which is why I risked it.
Smallest size, 36, and they actually fit a small wide foot, which almost nothing does. Pink. They look like trainers from the top. Heel doesn't slip.
I'm 66 and I'd stopped walking with the group because my feet hurt by the half-way bench. Back with them since July. The shoes look normal, sporty, not like the ones from the pharmacy catalogue. Took my usual 40.
Light, flat, wide at the toes. Grips the wet car park tarmac, which my old pair didn't. The lace could do with being a bit longer when I wear thick socks. Minor.

Very wide front of foot and one foot bigger than the other. The 42 fits both, I pull the lace tighter on the small one. The toggle loosens a little after an hour or two and I re-pull it. Would buy again. Grey next time, the green is greener than the photo.

Walks, trails and the gym: anywhere you want grip and a shoe that stays put.
Yes, thick socks included. The knit is not waterproof; on wet days wear wool socks.
These shoes have no built-in support; your foot does that work. They suit people who want that. If you are unsure, start with an hour a day.
They’re built for comfort from the first wear. The sole is thin on purpose, so if you’re coming from cushioned trainers, start on softer ground and build up; most people stop noticing within a week.

Yes. It’s a unisex shoe in sizes 36 to 46, the same shoe for everyone.
